The BBC reported in the last hour, that the UK and French governments have come to an agreement allowing those with a negative Coronavirus test-result to travel from the UK to French ports and airports.

Grant Shapps, UK transport minister, tweeted: “Good progress today and agreement with the French Government on borders. We will provide an update on hauliers later this evening, but hauliers must still NOT travel to Kent this evening.”

French authorities said planes, boats and Eurostar trains would resume services from Wednesday morning. Travel will also be permitted for key workers such as health professionals, freight workers, commercial fishing crew, and bus and train drivers.

Anyone meeting the basic travel criteria will also need to provide a negative test-result from the last 72 hours. Tests may either be the PCR test or the quicker lateral-flow antigen test.
