The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has released its report on the state of the cruise industry and says that two-out-of-three potential cruisers are willing to take a cruise within a year and 58% of international holidaymakers are likely to take a cruise in the next few years, reports safety4sea.

Despite a challenging 2020, the research reveals optimism and highlights the tremendous growth experienced by the industry in the years leading up to the pandemic. It says that in 2019, cruising sustained 1,166,000 jobs and represented $154.5 billion in revenue generation.

Over 200 successful cruises took place from July to December this year and Adam Goldstein, CLIA Chairman stated: “2020 was a year unlike any other and I am proud of how our industry has united together to weather this unparalleled pandemic…”
