Boat Disappears between the Bahamas and Florida
The boat carrying 20 people, left Bimini in the Bahamas for Lake Worth in Florida.
NDTV reports about a boat that left the Bahamas on Monday, 28 December 2020, failing to reach its destination of Lake Worth in Florida, just 80 miles (130 kilometres) away. The US Coast Guard was notified about the boat’s disappearance on Tuesday.
A three-day aerial and marine search operation conducted jointly by teams from both countries was eventually called off on Friday, with no sign of the boat till then.
Commenting on the tragedy, Captain Stephen Burdian of the US Coast Guard said, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the missing people.”
