As a part of its inaugural Belt and Road liner service, Ningbo Ocean Shipping has opened a new route to Vietnam. This route will ply between the Chinese ports of Jiaxing, Ningbo-Zhoushan, and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

Once operational, the route could potentially open new trade links between the Chinese provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and Southeast Asia. Presently, Ningbo Ocean Shipping concentrates on container shipments between China-South Korea and China-Japan, besides several domestic routes.

Earlier this month, parent company Ningbo Port – the world’s largest port by tonnage, had announced its intentions to spin-off its 100% owned subsidy Ningbo Ocean Shipping, to list the latter on the stock exchange.

VesselsValue data confirms Ningbo Ocean Shipping to presently own a fleet of seven feedermax and sub-panamax containerships that have an aggregate capacity of 11,642 teu.
