Mathias Schoeller will succeed Stefan Ciegelski at UPT at the end of June, the company says. Schoeller spent the last 10 years as the UPT’s chartering manager and will serve as co-director alongside Christos Matarangas, who has headed up UPT for over a decade.

Ciegelski departs UPT after nearly 45 years in shipping, 17 of which he spent at the helm of UPT. Ciegelski said: ” I am leaving at a time of change but have strong confidence that our refreshed management, quality service ethos and the professionalism of the team will master all challenges and continue to expand and strengthen UPT”.

UPT was founded in 2003 and is a commercial and pool operator of products tankers in the Handy, MR and LR1/Panamax segments, and is based in Hamburg, with offices in Limassol and Stamford.
