German authorities have awarded its Baltic Sea rescue contract to Boluda Towage, Boluda Corporación Marítima’s towing division in Germany, the Netherlands, UK, and Belgium.

Boluda Towage operates the tugboat, Bremen Fighter, and the new contract came into effect on 5th March 2021 and is for a period of two years, renewable for up to three years.

Bremen Fighter is the most powerful tug in the company’s fleet and has a 104-tonne bollard pull. She is currently sailing to the port of Sassnitz on the island of Rügen, where she will be based.

From the second half of 2021, the powerful tug will display the official colours of the German coastguard. Boluda Corporación Marítima’s CEO, Vicente Boluda Fos, has welcomed the fact that “for the first time, the Boluda flag will be a permanent presence in the Baltic Sea”.
