The MSC-owned cruise subsidiary announced that they had established a further extension of the temporary pause on its US-based sailings through to the end of June 30, 2021, reports the online trade publication Cruise Industry News.

According to MSC Cruises, the decision will affect the voyage schedules for three ships homeported in Florida. These vessels include MSC Divina from a terminal at Port Canaveral and the MSC Meraviglia and MSC Armonia from terminals at PortMiami.

Guests who paid in full and booked through MSC Cruises USA or other travel advisor affiliates on the impacted sailings between June 1 and June 30 will be offered a 100 percent “future cruise credit” of the original fare to be used on any future cruise of their choice.

The company also said that guests would receive up to $200 onboard credit to use on their next cruise, based on the length of their original booking, or passengers can request a refund.

MSC’s extension of its operational pause is the latest industry action, amid an ongoing political fight between the CDC and the industry.
