The BW Epic Kosan-owned LPG carrier, Inge Kosan, has left Vanuatu with all but one of its crew testing positive for Covid-19. The vessel’s destination has not been disclosed.

The ship hit the headlines earlier this week when one of its crew was found dead, washed up on the shore. The body tested positive for Coronvirus and although the risk of infection was small, the police officers who handled the body were put in quarantine and outward travel from the main island was banned.

A spokesman for BW Epic Kosan (BWEK) told Tradewind News that the lone seafarer who tested negative for Covid aboard the ship is being is isolated from the rest of the ship’s company.

BWEK says it is continuing to offer support to the relatives of the deceased mariner and has requested a copy of the coroner’s report into the cause of the crewmember’s death.
