A lawsuit citing gross negligence and violations of federal maritime law has been filed against Seacor under the Jones Act, NBC news has confirmed.

The suit was filed by Hannah Daspit, the surviving spouse of Dylan Daspit who was on board the liftboat when it capsized in heavy weather on April 13 with 19 people aboard. Six crew members were rescued from the scene.

The USCG suspended its search on Monday after a concerted six-day SAR operation. Seven people remain missing as of Thursday, including Dylan Daspit.
