Goodwood Ship Management says that the lightering of the damaged suezmax A Symphony should be completed on Tuesday.

The Liberian-flagged 150,000 dwt A Symphony was struck by the Panama-flagged 35,200 dwt bulker Sea Justice on April 27th, causing the tanker to leak around 500 tonnes of its 1m barrel bitumen-mix cargo.

Goodwood said earlier that there were no injuries and the clean up operation commenced as soon as the weather permitted. The spill has been described as “minor”.

Lightering work has continued since Friday and when complete the vessel will depart Qingdao for further damage assessment and repairs.
