The USCG has released photos of the efforts to salvage the Seacor Power

The United States Coast Guard has released images of the capsized liftboat, Seacor Power, as teams begin to salvage the vessel.

The Seacor Power remains partially submerged after capsizing in the Gulf of Mexico last month with the loss of 13 crew members.

In the first stage of the salvage crews pumped fuel out of the vessel and the USCG says operations will continue dependent on the weather.

A family member of one of the lost crew filed suit against the vessel’s owner and operator, Seacor and Talos Energy, charging that the companies put profits before safety.

They contest that the vessel put to sea despite warnings of heavy weather and that the deaths of the crew members were the result of Seacor’s failure to maintain a seaworthy vessel.
