Three German cruise operators have announced that they will resume cruises when travel restrictions are lifted in northern Germany in May.

AIDA, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, and TUI said they would re-start their services later this month from the Port of Kiel.

The federal government of the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein recently announced that it would be reducing the Covid restrictions related to domestic travel, meaning cruising could resume in time for the Whitsun holiday at the end of May.

All three companies were successful in running cruises last summer from Kiel, cruising mostly in the Baltic with some limited stops in Scandinavia.
