Vantage Drilling secures Middle East contract
Houston-based Vantage Drilling has secured conditional letters of award for two jack-up rigs in the Middle east.
Vantage Drilling’s 2009-built Aquamarine Driller and Sapphire Driller have been awarded a two-to-three-year deal in the Middle East. The two jack-ups are due to commence operations on the $157 deal during Q1 2022.
The operator has not been disclosed but ADNOC and Qatar Petroleum have multi-year, multi-rig tenders out for rigs in the region.
Sapphire Driller and Aquamarine Driller are both expected to begin drilling campaigns in West Africa and Southeast Asia respectively when the current contract finishes in Q2 2021.
Vantage has also won a short-term contract with APO offshore Tunisia for the 2009-built Topaz Driller, which is currently operating off Montenegro for Eni.
