The 100ft brigantine Zebu has come adrift from her moorings and is stuck on the breakwater in Holyhead New Harbour, reports the BBC. The Zebu broke her moorings at about 15:50 BST.

The historic 1938-built tall ship is fast on the rocks on the foundation of the port’s breakwater and is listing heavily. Two people on board were able to leave the vessel.

A coastguard salvage operation is being planned and people are being advised to stay clear of the breakwater.

The ship has an eventful past and sank at Liverpool’s Albert Dock in 2015. She also sailed 69,000 miles, visiting 41 countries as part of youth development project, Operation Raleigh, in 1984.
