Kotug ventures into inland shipping market
Towage company establishes new inland division.
Towage specialist Kotug has launched a new inland shipping division to provide solutions for customers on the Dutch inland waterways.
The company aims to provide electric-powered pusher tugs, smart AI-driven dispatch, and route planning applications.
The new division began operations in the city of Leiden in southern Holland with a 5.5-metre electric-powered tug deployed to provide a zero-emission alternative for heavy road transport.
The tug is being operated by Kotug Citybarge, a partnership of Kotug and transport company Circle Line Logistics.
