Qatar Airways rolls out the red carpet for mariners
Airline opens dedicated lounge for seafarers at Doha Airport and gives access to luxury normally reserved for C-suite executives.
Qatar Airways has taken steps to take some of the strain out of being a mariner by giving seafarers access to a luxury lounge at Doha airport. On the Day of the Seafarer last Friday, Akbar Al Baker officially opened the Mariner Lounge at the Hamad International Airport.
The lounge offers an international selection of food and beverages, showers, wifi, television, reading material and a business centre.
The level of service is normally reserved for C-suite executives and will no doubt be appreciated by hard working mariners as they travel to join ships around the world.
“The international shipping industry is the lifeblood of the world economy, and as a leading global airline, Qatar Airways is truly proud to support the crews who, along with us, keep the world moving,” Al Baker said.
