Genting Cruise Lines has cancelled a scheduled sailing from Singapore after a passenger aboard the 150,700-gt cruise ship World Dream tested positive for Covid-19.

Health authorities alerted the ship that a passenger was a close contact of a person ashore who tested positive for Covid-19 and the company implemented its DNV-classified CruiseSafe protocols.

The passenger was isolated and given a PCR test, which gave a positive result. Authorities said the passenger was fully vaccinated and asymptomatic.

The ship docked in Singapore on Wednesday morning, cutting its cruise short by several hours. The infected passenger and travelling companions were transferred to hospital for observation. The ship’s other passenger were asked to remain in their cabins while testing and contact tracing was completed.
