Offentliggjort

In order to gain a competitive advantage, Hyundai Heavy Industries aims to strengthen its position as the world’s leading shipbuilding and offshore company.

A test run by HHI, said to be the first in the world, will involve operating a big LNG carrier’s self-navigation system to cross the ocean.

The new LNG carrier over 300 meters long is being constructed by Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering.

Hyundai Intelligent Navigation Assistant System, HiNAS 2.0, which was built by the company’s subsidiary and ship solution provider Avikus, will be the primary navigation system for the vessel.

It is estimated that the expedition will be completed by the end of this year. Depending on construction timetable, the route will be determined between the Pacific or the Indian Ocean.
