Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat), is prepared to commence commercial operation of a floating solar farm which it claims is the world’s largest hybrid power generation plant, scheduled to begin this October at Sirindhorn Dam in Ubon Ratchathani province, after months of delays due to Covid-19.

SET-listed B.Grimm Power (BGRIM) was selected to develop the Sirindhon floating 45-megawatt solar farm for Egat, which was given the contract in the early part of last year. The construction contract was awarded to BGRIM in 2018 with a bid of 842 million baht.

The deputy governor of Egat stated that the floating solar farm is now in the process of conducting a test operation.
