In a multi-million dollar deal, ABB has won the contract to supply topside and subsea electrical equipment and expertise at the prestigious Jansz-Io Compression project.

The order, made up of contracts with Chevron Australia and Aker Solutions, is booked in Q3 2021. The Jansz-Io gas field is located approximately 200 km off the north-western coast of Australia at water depths of 1,400 metres.

“The Jansz-Io Compression project is a major enabler in maintaining an important source of natural gas to customers in Asia Pacific. It will support energy transition across the region where many countries primarily rely on coal for energy generation,” said Peter Terwiesch, President, Process Automation at ABB.
