Concerns for Japan to Release Nuclear Water into Ocean

Publisert

On August 24, the Japan government announced plans to release radioactive nuclear water into the ocean in 2023.  The plan is facing opposition and backlash amid fishermen, residents and neighbors of Japan including China and South Korea.

To aid in the worry, the government will set up a fund to buy fish and freeze it to offset the impact of the water discharge rumors and even has plans to help promote the food products to restaurants.

For part of a safety awareness program, the government is even planning to raise fish in the water that will be treated to levels that are safe for discharging into the water.

Discharging the water into the ocean is the most realistic method of disposal states Japanese officials. No other details have been announced at this time.
