Mitsubishi Shipbuilding and TotalEnergies Developing Liquified CO2 Carriers

Publisert Sist oppdatert

A research and study for the development of a liquified CO2 (LCO2) has been announced by Japan’s Mitsubishi Shipbuilding and leading French energy company TotalEnergies.

Believing that there will be a coming increase in demand for the vessels, Mitsubishi Shipbuilding has already been looking into the commercialization of LCO2 carriers. TotalEnergies has already been involved in various carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) initiatives.

The combined effort of both companies will help build a CO2 ecosystem in the CO2 transport industry, a key component of the CCUS value chain.
