Two arrested Panama-flagged MR tankers are to be sold at auction to reimburse their crews’ wages following a ruling by a court in the Netherlands.

The 50,000-dwt Marvin Faith and the Marvin Confidence were arrested after 26 seafarers won an order at the Rotterdam sub-district court to force a judicial sale.

Law frim Wybenga Advocaten said the Russian, Georgian, and Turkish crew members are owed a total of $160,902 in outstanding wages from service aboard the Marvin Faith and $166,711 from service aboard the Marvin Confidence.

The 2018-built ships are owned by companies registered in the Marshall Islands but are controlled by Greek manager Marvin Shipping Services.
