The grounded Navios Maritime bulk carrier Navios Amaryllis has been re-floated without any reports of an oil spill and is now anchored at the Ports Limited area.

However, the Government of the Maldives is demanding compensation for the damage to the reef the ship grounded on.

Maldives Transport Authority and the Environmental Protection Agency have stated that she will only be allowed to leave after an agreement on damages or a bond of $6.5m has been paid.

The Panama-flagged, 58,700 dwt Amaryllis went aground on 19th August.
