CSBC Contemplating Container Ship Build-and-Lease

After disclosing their revenue for the current year as NT$53.76 million (US$1.94 million), the Taiwanese shipbuilder CSBS Corp has their sights on expanding into build-and-lease avenues to increase their earnings even further.
Historically, as of late due to the global shipping shortage and port congestion, there is an ever so growing demand for container vessels and the chairman for CSBC, Cheng Wen-lon believes this is a great opportunity.
Wen-lon stated that approximately 60% of CSBC’s business comes from government ships and building naval vessels. He went on to say, “With the recent enthusiasm for new merchant ships, CSBC has not only resumed bidding for container ship orders, but we are also planning to enter the build-and-lease business.”
