In an effort distance itself from the ever growing and continued setbacks with the increasing port congestion issues globally, and to restock some of the unfortunate empty shelves worldwide, the world’s largest furniture retailer Ikea has purchased its own containers and announced it will charter its own containerships

Swedish based Ikea’s product deliveries director Mikael Redin said, “Congestion in ports combined with historically high demand has created an imbalance in the entire world market for maritime transport.”
