Shipping Season a Positive for Port of Long Beach

The Port of Long Beach announces a record breaking month of August for shipping season and predicts continued growth into 2022.

The Port stated increased inventory replacement and the start of peak shipping season from August to October helped cargo and even despite a modest drop in consumer demand from July, August retail sales were around 18% above pre-pandemic levels.

The Port of Long Beach has transported 6,346,377 TEUs so far this year, up 29.2% from the same period in 2020 and has positively broken monthly cargo records for the last 13 months.
