Although appears as an accident, an investigation is occurring into what caused two ships to collide near a Covid-19 checkpoint around the coast of Vung Tau which caused one of the vessels to sink.

On September 14 approximately 2:30am, the My An 1 a Vietnamese ship, was already anchored when the 138-meter Lisa Auerbach on its way to Ho Chi Minh City, crashed into the vessel.
