Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Hawaii and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Washington are getting a makeover.

Both shipyards which were built over 100 years ago received a 5 year contract awarded by the US Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) for $500 million dollars to upgrade their structural projects, complete repairs and many other alterations needed at both shipyards.

Capt. Warren LeBeau, a US Navy program manager stated, “Our public shipyards require investments to improve their capacity and capability. This contract directly supports the vital roles that Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard have in maintaining and modernizing combat-ready ships to the fleet.”
