End of an Era for Three Vestas Factories in Europe

Publisert

Vestas, a large wind turbine manufacturer has announced that it will close a total of three European factories by the first half of 2022.  Vestas has manufacturing facilities in other countries and has advised that they will attempt to relocate workers to those facilities if possible.

The Lauchhammer and Viveiro facilities are both forecasted to end their production processes by the end this year, and the Ejsberg facility is expected to do the same in early 2022.

The executive vice president and COO Tommy Rahbek Nielsen stated, “While Vestas will sustain a strong footprint in Europe across manufacturing and service activities, it’s always hard to make decisions that negatively affect our good, hardworking colleagues at Vestas.”
