Heroin from Afghanistan Seized in India

On September 21 Indian officials announced that on September 15 at Munda Port they received information which resulted in the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) coming in contact and after further investigation, seizing two containers that contained narcotics.

The containers heading for Delhi after arriving from Iran’s Bandar Abbas Port were marked and declared as containing talc from Afghanistan which happens to be a global illicit opiate supplier. After tests were completed heroin was present with the approximate worth of $2.72 billion.

At this time two individuals have been arrested.

The DRI stated, “Investigation conducted so far has also revealed the involvement of Afghan nationals, who are under investigation, “ with no other comments.
