Century Old Ships Become Diving Sites in Turkey

Publisert

Only for skilled divers to enjoy, scheduled to open this month is the new Gallipoli Historical Underwater Park which is a marine park of WWI sunken ships located near Turkey’s Gallipoli peninsula.

Most notably, the British Royal Navy’s “HMS Majestic” has bits still resting below from when it was torpedoed and destroyed in 1915. Also remaining are other ships from the Gallipoli military campaign during the war, missiles, cannonballs and a myriad of other artillery 24 meters below.

There are 14 total diving points with many other listed ships from the Dardanelles War for viewing within the 150-kilometer site.
