After 14 Years Hartmann Orders Boxships

According to VesselsValue, Germany’s Hartmann Group has not ordered any boxships since 2007, but all that has changed.

For the first time in 14 years Hartmann has placed an order to expand its fleet with ordering three 3,500TEU ships from Taizhou Sanfu, a Chinese shipbuilder, with options to increase to six.

Delivery has forecasted completion in 2024 and estimates for the ships total are $62m each as they are liquified natural gas (LNG) newbuilds.
