Product Design Assessment Awarded to Daewoo
First Ever Smart Ship Platform Design Assessment to be Developed
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) will be developing the first ever shipbuilding industry smart ship platform cyber security product design assessment (PDA).
DSME was awarded the ABS CyberSafety (PDA) by ABS.
As it collects data aboard the vessel from systems, the DS4 Smart Platform provides and returns relative information to increase optimal performance while also supporting the storage of data, processing of data and device connectivity.
ABS Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, said, “The ABS CyberSafety PDA gives the owner installing the system confidence that the known vulnerabilities can be managed to minimize the impact on the vessel’s cyber security posture, while providing useful operational information.”
