On October 5 a “Sisters Seaports” joint agreement was signed and introduced, a Memorandum of Undersanding (MOU) as a joint effort to aid in international trade and more between Honduras and Puerto Cortes.

Signed by Port Everglades, the National Port Authority of Honduras and the terminal operator at Puerto Cortes, Operadora Portuaria Centroamericana (OPC), both countries will collaboratively promote and market their specific sea trade routes to gain interest in new business measures and collectively share data.

Port Everglades Chief Executive and Port Director said, “International trade promotion is a priority for Port Everglades and Broward County, and Honduras is an important trade partner for Port Everglades and the nation.”
