2 Shot Dead In Psychotic Episode Aboard Tanker
Shooting Aboard Tanker Results in 2 Deaths
On October 23 aboard the Malta-flagged 2010 built tanker Ayane, a shooting was to have occurred resulting in two deaths being reported and the Third Officer at fault in what reports are calling, a psychotic episode.
The Third Officer is said to have shot the Captain of the ship first and then the Chief Officer followed by a phone call to the Prefecture which was recorded and has released the audio, “The Captain and the first officer are dead, I killed him.”
All crew members aboard the ship were Argentine nationals and were to have secured themselves in a safe location aboard the vessel until the Prefecture arrived on site.
The tanker is anchored at La Plata Anchorage, Rio de La Plata, Argentina.
