4 Missing After Tanker and Cargo Vessel Collide in Indonesia

On October 29 it was reported that near the Aru Islands located in Maluku Province of Indonesia, Indonesian-flagged New Global a dwt 7998 tanker en route from New Guinea happened to strike KM Maju 9 a local coastal wooden cargo ship causing a rescue to ensue.

The Maju 9 proceeded to capsize while the 32 people onboard scrambled to be rescued by the New Global.

28 people were rescued while a reportedly 4 are still missing.

New Global sailed to Dobo, Indonesia where it is currently under investigation of the incident and anchored.
