Sailboat in Distress Rescued by Carnival Cruise Ship at Sea

Carnival Cruise Ship Rescues Nearby Sailboat Crew

On November 4 the Carnival Breeze a 130,000 gross tonne cruise vessel that was on return to a port in Galveston, Texas received a distress call from a nearby sailboat within the nearby area of the Gulf of Mexico.

The cruise ship located the sailboat and found the captain of the vessel to have sustained a back injury and needed help along with two other passengers and dogs onboard.

The crew trained in search and rescue used lifeboats to bring all passengers aboard the cruise liner.

The Carnival Breeze reached port in Galveston later that day and transported the injured captain to the hospital.
