Premiered at Saha Expo Defense, an Aviation and Space Industry Fair, military robotic dolphins were on display.

The “Robot Dolphin” developed by a defense industry company in Turkey is an artificial intelligence (AI) project that is expected to enter the Bosphorus also known as the Strait of Istanbul by April 23 2022.

Once in the waters, these 200-430 kilo dolphins will either be released as one or a pod to record information, observe and even complete rescue and defense missions.

IBAK Defense Industry Joint Stock Company official Sertan Ayçiçek said, “These dolphins will have dimensions between 2 meters and 4 meters. In places where there is no communication under water, we take advantage of the herd to communicate with each other in their own language. We have made these as a product that can monitor, listen and analyze underwater, mapping and intelligence.”
