Tiger Gas Launches World’s Largest 15,000 tonnes LNG Container Ship

What is known to be the world’s largest ever liquid natural gas (LNG) container ship, with the capacity to carry an approximate 15,000 tonnes, the Tiger Maanshan is currently performing sea trials after just being ordered in 2020 by Tiger Gas.

Built by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding the 700 LNG ISO tank containers will have the capacity to transport throughout Chinese inland waters and internationally.

Being the first of four sister ships that were ordered, the Tiger Maanshan is expected to be delivered at the end of 2021.

  1. The story about Tiger Gas is as far as I am concerned incomprehensible. Largest container ship?
Are you talking about tank containers? It seems very poor. Please elucidate!

    1. Hi Ted! We here at Maritime Direct appreciate you taking the time to comment. If you’d read the story, it specifically states that it’s the worlds largest LNG containership which is to transport liquified natural gas (LNG). Thanks!
