2 Ships Collide in Shipping Lanes in Gulf of Kutch
On November 26 a 50,000-DWT oil tanker the MV Atlantic Grace was on journey to Fujairah, the UAE, when it collided with the MV Aviator a 19,000-DWT bulk carrier while in the shipping lanes of the Gulf of Kutch in Gujarat off the coast of India.
No injuries were announced for this incident.
A government official stated, “Until now, there has been no report of any casualties in the accident. No oil slick has been reported so far. But the tanker has breached the hull of the bulk carrier. Luckily, this breach is above the water level.”
