Reports of Disabled Maersk Ship in English Channel

Maersk Disables Vessel En Route to Belgium

An incident that has not been identified or announced aboard a Maersk vessel causing the ship to be disabled was found to have occurred in Europe.

On November 26 while en route to Port of Antwerp in Belgium from Southhampton, UK, the Singapore-flagged 2008-built 223m Maersk Bulan containership was disabled approximately around 7.30 UTC.

The French CROSS Gris-Nez was monitoring the incident at the time as the ship was to be carrying IMO which were categorized as dangerous goods.

Approximately 3 hours later the ship was brought back online and continued its voyage to Belgium.
