Eight Newbuild Containership Orders for Costamare

Container shipping company Costamare has announced it has recently ordered eight containerships to continue their fleet expansion growth.

The purchase agreements with an undisclosed Asian shipyard are for two specific newbuild contracts to build two 13,000 TEU vessels.

The other agreements are factored as options to be exercised on existing contracts which include two 13,000 TEU newbuilds and four 15,000 TEU newbuilds.

When the vessels are delivered in 2023/2024, Costamare already has plans for long term charter assignments.
