Adani Ports Decides to Cancel the Ban from Three Muslim Nations

The Adani Port and SEZ (APSEZ) had announced that on November 15 they would impose a ban on processing any containers from Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan after multiple drug busts had occurred at their Mundra Port.

The ban came with backlash from government officials, the Indian department of Customs, the Iranian embassy in New Delhi and other various business groups.

On December 8 the APSEZ authority decided to retract the ban.

APSEZ stated, “Upon careful scrutiny, discussion and assurances from concerned stakeholders regarding adherence to due compliances and with a view to ensure seamless trade, the advisory is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect.”
