China’s First Cruise Ship Makes Construction Progress

On December 17 China held a floating ceremony in Shanghai for what is China’s first ever large cruise ship to be built by China and used for the Chinese market.

As construction continues aboard the vessel, it was floated out and moved to incur continued outfitting work in a quay nearby.

Two newbuilds were ordered by CSSC Carnival Cruise Shipping Limited, this ship being the first of the two will be 323-meters-long, can carry an estimated 4,250 passengers and an additional 1,400 crew.

The vessel is forecasted to be delivered in September 2023.
