As the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 virus continues to sweep across the country, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has now advised all travelers of a mere warning that although they may be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, they should avoid traveling on cruise ships at this time.

On December 30 the CDC raised the travel health notice level for cruise ships in regards to Covid-19 to its highest level as reports of outbreaks continue to rise on cruise ships globally.

Cruise Lines International Association stated, “The decision by the CDC to raise the travel level for cruise is particularly perplexing considering that cases identified on cruise ships consistently make up a very slim minority of the total population onboard.”
