Highest Ever 29% Growth for Brazil’s Portonave Terminal

For the third consecutive year Brazil’s Portonave Terminal continues to dominate records in volume of container handling for southern Brazil and after a report was released by the National Agency of River Transportation (ANTAQ), it’s celebrating a history making moment.

For the year of 2021, The Port of Navegantes (Portonave), recorded the highest cargo volume of 1.1 million TEU.

Frozen goods grew by 18.8% in exports and imports accumulated a 38.6% growth bringing in chemical products, plastics and other goods.

Portonave commercial manager Rodrigo Gomez stated, “With 14 years of operation, the Port reached a historical turnover of 1m teu,” he continued. “In addition, we closed the year with an increase of 18.8% in reefer exports. We are successfully overcoming the challenges of the pandemic and will continue to grow in 2022.”
