Investigation Opened into Saipem Crane Tilting in Norway
A Saipem 7000 semisubmersible crane vessel is to be inspected by the Norwegian Maritime Directorate after the vessel tilted during a normal lifting operation. The incident occurred on April 14, just north of Stavanger, Norway.
No injuries or occurrences were reported of the 275 people that were on board, as everyone was safely evacuated.
Reportedly, a barge next to the crane capsized as a result of the incident.
