Investigation Reveals Tanker Grounded While Trying to Pass a Tow

Publisert

A recent report released by the United States’ National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) found that the Bow Tribute tanker, was trying to pass a tow vessel in the United States’ Mississippi River when it drifted towards the river bank, grounding itself and damaging the city’s pipe fender protection systems on March 16th.

The NTSB noted that the incident was due in part to inadequate communication between the Bow Tribute and the vessel it attempted to overtake.

Although no injuries occurred among the crew of 27, the damages have totaled nearly US$ 2 million.
