Emissions to be Monitored by Drones

Publisert

The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency of Germany and European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) will begin deploying drones, operated by a Norway-based company called Nordic Unmanned, in the Baltic Sea in order to monitor and track ship emissions, specifically for sulphur content.

The purpose of this project is so that authorities may then inspect ships upon which levels of sulphur exceeding 0.10%, the limit set by SECA (Baltic Sea Emission Control Area), are detected when they arrive at their port of call.
